The year started out with BIG changes in the Young Champions levels system. Instead of having 6 levels, the 2010-2011 season saw the introduction of two new levels. For the 2010-2011 season, Niles Elite is the only team to have a team in every level.

This also led the the creation of a brand new Niles Elite team, NE Pink. This team was composed of mostly athletes from our 2010 National Champions level 3 team, as well as a number of level 2 athletes and a couple level 4 athletes. The average age of this team was 8 and a half. Having such a young elite team was a change for us, but the staff was also very excited about working with these young athletes and setting the bar high.

Fall regionals was held at the DeltaPlex on Sunday, December 12, 2010. Six of our teams competed, and they all did a fantastic job. Our Twinkles performed a very difficult routine to the song "Jimmy, Jimmy" and came home with first place honors. Starlights showed that they really were "The Main Event" and hit a fantastic routine with LOTS of parent support. Shining Stars performed a packed routine and definitely earned some "Respect" while placing third. Our division 4 Shooting Stars placed first showing that they are certainly "Love Machines." Our newest team, Pink, showed they were up for the challenge and hit an excellent routine and qualified for state with the second highest score of the division. Red hit the floor looking like they had never missed a beat after their national title last season and qualified for state with the highest score of the competition.
